NoirCon 2008 Coverage

Months ago I was sent the information for this year’s NoirCon, which specializes in the crime fiction and mystery genres of books. But the email got buried and then buried some more in my growing backlog.

When I finally made an effort to get to it last night, I was embarrassed to discover this year’s NoirCon had taken place earlier this month!

Even though I knew I wouldn’t be able to attend, I did want to post about it here to help spread the word.

Now I’ve been given a bunch of links by the generous and exceedingly- forgiving Lou Boxer so everyone can go take a look at all the excitement that transpired there.

Behind the Black Mask: Mystery Writer Revealed has several NoirCon podcasts.

NoirCon Hangover: The Next NoirCon is writer Duane Swierczynski’s brief post-NoirCon blog entry.

Deadlier Than the Male: Wise Guys and Femme Fatales has some NoirCon LiveJournal entries.

The Bibliothecary Blog: a blog of literary endeavour has a NoirCon report that spans several entries (scroll down!).

Detectives Beyond Borders: A Forum for International Crime Fiction has a blog entry with video, plus this and this one, with a special one about Ken Bruen.

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a ginormous file of photos on Flickr, starting with this photostream.

If anyone attended NoirCon, feel free to leave me a Comment to pile on my not treating it properly in the blog. Really rub it in!

My endless and deep apologies to Lou Boxer (whose package of last year is still unopened in my analog-world backlog!).

I’ll rub it in, but only to the extent of telling you that you should have been there. A number of attendees said it was the finest such event they had attended. And open your mail from now on so you don’t miss NoirCon II.

Thanks for letting me know about the photos on Flickr. I had not seen them.
