Some CloudBook Updates

Laptop Magazine continues to update its blog as they put the CloudBook through a variety of uses. One of them really excites me. Look:

That’s the web interface for WordPress, the same blogging service I use here! That’s just what I wanted to see and to know. The CloudBook will suit me perfectly for tote-around blogging!

Over at CloudBooker (a site that I think every CloudBook owner should visit), they’ve posted about reseller ZaReason and the behind-the-scenes activities that contributed to CloudBook shipping delays.

InfoWorld reports:

The company has already shipped 20,000 of the notebooks to retailers including Wal-Mart, Newegg, and TigerDirect, said Paul Kim, director of marketing at Everex. Wal-Mart will start selling the product on its Web site on Thursday, he said.

Emphasis added by me. TigerDirect?!? That’s a new one! A search there comes up empty.

I’ve scoured the Net and can’t find anyone in possession of a CloudBook (other than Laptop Magazine). But one fellow claims his is on its way to him:

I got some great news from Vincent in Shipping @ ZaReason tonight. My early pre-order for the Cloudbook won me a spot in line for the first Cloudbooks to be shipped out! I should have it by early next week.

I also came across this strange promo video Everex did for it, on YouTube:

Er, Everex, that’s rather pathetic.

The following video is about installing Adobe Flash Player in gOS, the OS the CloudBook uses. It’s probably irrelevant to the CloudBook as I expect AFP will already be installed. However, it does provide some good information for eejits like me who know nothing about Linux:

So, the wait continues. Next week will probably bring some activity.
