Study: 1 in 4 adults in NYC have herpes virus

NEW YORK (AP) – A city Health Department study finds that more than a fourth of adult New Yorkers are infected with the virus that causes genital herpes.

The study, released Monday, says about 26 percent of New York City adults have genital herpes, compared to about 19 percent nationwide.

I’d rather be ridiculed instead of blistered.

Hmmmm … is that a cold sore on your lip or are you just unhappy to still be living?

I Am Living In The Future

No frikkin jetpacks but still, there are some things that recommend it:

Click = big

I split the difference.

On the left, live coverage of the Apple WWDC. On the right, Steve Moffat’s award-winning episode of Doctor Who from the previous season, Blink. Yeah, it’s a bit messy. I’ve also done some cropping to frustrate Los Suits.

I hadn’t planned for either. But I got sick of seeing people referencing Blink. It’s an episode I hadn’t yet watched.

Bloody brilliant work.

I’ll have to try Moffat’s line and see what it gets me: “Because life is short and you are hot.”

Police release chilling images of man left for dead by hit-and-run driver

“At the end of the day we’ve got to look at ourselves and understand that our moral values have now changed,” said Police Chief Daryl Roberts. “We have no regard for each other.”

No, it’s not the new Mac.

But in twenty to thirty years, it probably will be.

I want to see that then. Get me stem cells.

Blog Notes: Undecided

I’m not sure yet what I will do today.

God Steve Jobs addresses the assembled multitudes at 10AM PDT (11AM MDT, 12PM CDT, 1PM MY TIME).

Sometimes I’ve been nuts enough to sit at my screen and watch the “live” coverage via text.

Other times, I just blow it off and escape the frenzy and read everything later.

I’m not sure yet what I’ll be doing.

As usual, I’ve gotten myself in a massive backlog of things that I Really Should Do (and I won’t name them because that morphs them into Never Will Get Done).

If you want to go nuts, here are two links for Apple live coverage that were posted over at Gear Diary:

There are probably others.
